In January 2009, Scott became the youngest shareholder of Rich & Cartmill, Inc.

In January 2010, he succeeded Ross Cooper, Jr in becoming the endorsed agent for Professional Liability by the Oklahoma Osteopathic Association.

Founded in 1922, Rich & Cartmill is one of Oklahoma’s oldest and largest independent
insurance agencies.

They have 6 locations with more then 140 agents and employees and is Listed on the 100 Largest Brokers Of U.S. Business for Business Insurance.

biography

Scott L. Selman, CIC, joined Rich & Cartmill, Inc. as a producer in May of 2002.

He graduated with honors from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance. While in attendance, he joined Sigma Chi with the purpose of encouraging friendship, justice, and learning. He was then elected to become President of the University's Interfraternity Council.

Scott is a fourth generation insurance agent as his great grandfather, grandfather and uncle were also in the business.

He has been specializing in medical practice for 12 years. He currently is the endorsed agent for the Oklahoma Osteopathic Association (www.okosteo.org) and insures physicians and hospitals throughout the United States.

Scott is married and has five children, Lydia, Claire, Henry, Grant, and Gage. Scott is also a member of the Rotary Club of Tulsa.

Just when Tulsa realized that its future lay in the nearby oil fields, two enterprising young men, John R. Cartmill and Irwin D. Rich staked their future on providing protection of the buildings and contents of thriving new businesses in Tulsa.

Little did these two entrepreneurs realize their names would live on as an icon for independent insurance long after they were gone.

As the firm grew in coverage and types of clientele, its staff out-grew four more locations, until today. Its 40-plus shareholders and associates are taking care of clients' needs throughout Oklahoma and its bordering states: Missouri, Kansas, and, Colorado.

The mission of Rich & Cartmill, Inc. today is the same as more than three-quarters of a century ago: to provide the best coverage possible at the least cost to our clients.

Brandy Benoit ~ Account Manager
Brandy has over 10 years of malpractice experience with Rich & Cartmill, Inc. She entered the insurance industry in 1997 after college, working primary with Personal Insurance. In 1999 she moved into Commercial Lines in Kansas City starting as an assistant for one of the largest agencies in the US. Upon returning to Tulsa in 2004, Brandy took on the task of learning the Medical Malpractice industry inside and out and continues to serve.

Leti Logan ~ Account Manager
Leti began at Rich & Cartmill in 2000 in commercial accounts. As of 2007, she has enjoyed working in the Professional Liability Accounts division. Teresa has also maintained her CISR designation every year.
